The Shropshire Shakers
The Shropshire Group for Breakthrough was formally welcomed with the many groups around the UK in April 2008. Founder members Carole Moreton and Linda Sagar had been active fundraisers for Breakthrough since 2004 and held a number of events locally to raise funds. Following the very successful Pink Party held in 2005, they decided to see if there was a local group they could join foces with. However, although there were lots of dedicated fundraisers for Breakthrough in Shropshire, there wasn’t an existing group, so they decided to found one.
Since then they have continued to fundraise for Breakthrough with their own events but have also had the privilege and pleasure of representing the charity throughout Shropshire. They’ve been to many events in support of other people and have also collected funds raised. Along the way they’ve met many wonderful and inspirational people, and have taken the opportunity to continue to raise the profile of Breakthrough and the work that they do, and to try and encourage other people to join the group.
